How do I get my high school diploma with your program?
Once you start the enrollment process, we will send you the necessary paperwork to get started.  When you send that paperwork back to us, an academic advisor will review your official school transcripts and your admissions diagnostic placement tests to determine skill levels in math and English. We will use these results to determine your eligibility and placement within the program.  Your advisor will plan the program you need to fulfill your graduation requirements.  When you have successfully completed your graduation requirements, you will earn a high school diploma.

How long will it take me to complete the program?
That depends on the amount of time you have to dedicate to your schoolwork and the number of courses you still need to complete.  Each student is given 12-months to complete the Level of the program they have enrolled for.  However, you control the pace through which you complete each course.  Therefore, the time it takes to earn your high school diploma is completely up to you.   However, a motivated student can complete each full year in as little as 6 months.

Can I take more than two courses at a time?
Most students are assigned one to two courses at a time to ensure that they are able to fully grasp the material before tackling another subject.  Additionally, some courses require you take a lower level course before taking the higher-level courses (such as Algebra I before Algebra II).  However, if the student demonstrates to the academic advisor that they are able to successfully complete two courses at the same time, it is possible that allowances can be made.  This must be authorized by the student’s current academic advisor.

How much does it cost?
The cost depends on how many high school credits you have earned, which will determine how many additional high school credits you need to graduate. Your advisor will verify your official transcripts once we receive them and review your diagnostic placement results.  Please note that in order to graduate and receive a Bridgeway High School diploma, each student is required to take a minimum of five (5) credits (30 lessons). Are there any hidden costs involved once I get started?
Each package includes your record keeping, textbooks, study guides, tests and final progress report card.

Tuition prices do not include domestic or international shipping and handling fees. A domestic shipping and handling fee of $50.00 per tuition package will be charged. This covers 5 shipments to the student. After the 5th shipment, student will be charged $10.00 per shipment.

What is the difference between a HS diploma and a GED?
A high school diploma is the award given to a student upon successful completion of a three to four year high school program.  Universities or four-year colleges, employers, military branches, and law enforcement agencies accept it.  Most employers and many postsecondary educational institutions prefer applicants with traditional high school diplomas rather than GEDs.   A diploma is evidence of the successful mastery and completion of all the course requirements to graduate.  The knowledge represented by a diploma is greater than the requirements for a GED — employers know this and actively seek high school graduates.

General Educational Development (GED) is a high school equivalency test for non-graduates.  People passing the test receive a GED certificate.  It presents an opportunity for those who cannot return to high school but seek to advance their careers.  However, even though it is technically supposed to be equivalent to a high school degree and “sufficient” for most entry level positions, many higher-paying jobs will show preference for a high school degree rather than a GED. Because your GED score is only a number, more selective four-year institutions will have a hard time attempting to evaluate your application. A GED is, in many cases, not accepted by employers as fulfilling an education requirement for employment; this includes the U.S. military and civil service jobs like the police force.

What if I started high school in another country, but didn’t finish?
Because of our program requirements, you will need to complete the minimum of 20 credits required to graduate.  You will also be given a math and English placement test to measure your knowledge in these subject areas, to help us identify any areas of weakness and provide instruction.  Additionally, you will need to provide an official transcript from your former school(s) to verify the credits you have earned and wish to transfer into Bridgeway High School’s program.  This transcript must be in English.

How does a Bridgeway High School diploma compare to a GED or other programs?

What happens if I am working full time and a single parent, and it takes longer than I expect to finish?
Your program enrollment provides you with the support and materials you need to complete the coursework in the 12-months allotted.  This is why it is important to commit to the pace needed to complete all the courses on time.  If delays or unforeseen circumstances prohibit you from finishing within 12 months, you will have to purchase monthly school year extensions.  However, if you do not submit work for grading or we have not heard form you in 3 months, your program will be considered inactive. Should you decide to return, there would be a re-enrollment fee.

What if I do not pass a particular course. Do I have to pay additional fees?
You will have the opportunity to pass a particular course two times.  If you do not meet the 70% program standard in your first attempt to complete a course, you will be given a second opportunity.  If after the second attempt you continue to fall below the standards, you will be placed on academic probation and will be asked to purchase a new course of the same subject or a different course in that category until the academic goal is met.  You will be assessed for the student textbook/workbook plus shipping.

Can I complete your program if I am in another country?
Yes , we can accept international students for our Adult Diploma program. Please contact an admissions representative at (484) 214-1416 for additional information.

“I had been at my company for 20 years and was up for supervisor.  However, a supervisor position required a high school diploma—my GED was not good enough.   I enrolled in Bridgeway High School, completed the requirements, got my diploma and ended up with a better position and a raise!  Thank you, Bridgeway!”
